Summary
I am a geologist with a Ph.D. in Geology/Earth Sciences from the Universidade de Brasília and Carleton University. My expertise lies in mineralogy, petrology, geological mapping, and mineral deposits. I am particularly interested in the petrogenesis of mafic-ultramafic intrusions and their mineralization, using advanced analytical techniques and thermodynamic modeling to deepen our understanding of these systems. I have extensive experience with optical and electronic microscopy, including instrumentation such as the Electron Microprobe and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), as well as data processing. Additionally, I have a strong background in teaching, having served as a Teaching Assistant for various courses involving fieldwork, geological mapping, and laboratory methodologies.

I completed my Ph.D. through a Cotutelle Agreement between the University of Brasília (Brazil) and Carleton University (Canada), with a concentration in Mineralogy and Petrology at the University of Brasília. My dissertation, titled “Petrogenesis of Mafic-Ultramafic Intrusions in the Southern Segment of the Goiás Magmatic Arc,” focused on understanding the formation, geodynamic context, and mineralization potential of these intrusions. I was co-supervised by Dr. James Mungall (Carleton University) and Dr. Maria Emília Schutesky (University of Brasília). This research was made possible through funding from CAPES, FAP-DF, and NSERC.

I earned my M.Sc. in Geology with a concentration in Mineralogy and Petrology from the University of Brasília (Brazil). My thesis was titled “Petrological Characterization of the Ni-Cu-PGE Bearing Mafic-Ultramafic Mangabal Complex, Goiás – Brazil”. Under the supervision of Dr. Maria E. Schutesky, I conducted detailed petrographic, and mineralogical analyses to assess its characteristics. This research was supported by funding from CAPES, FAP-DF, and CNPq.

I obtained my B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Brasília (Brazil), completing 280 credits (4,200 hours) of coursework. My undergraduate thesis, titled “Geological Mapping of the Southern Proterozoic Araguaia Belt,” was part of the Paraíso do Tocantins project and focused on structural and lithological mapping of this region. Under the supervision of Dr. Elton Luís Dantas, I developed skills in field geology, stratigraphic interpretation, and tectonic analysis.
